재즈 스탠다드 - Willow Weep For Me


재즈 스탠다드로서 Willow Weep For Me는 멜로디와 가사가 가슴을 파고 드는 낭만적인 곡이다. 죠지 거쉬윈의 제자였던 Ann Rondell이 작곡하여 그녀의 멘토였던 거쉬윈에게 헌정 한 곡으로 1932년에 처음 레코딩 되었다. 강한 블루스풍(반음 노트)을 갖고 있는 곡으로 여름이 가버리면서 함께 떠나가버린 사랑을 멜랑콜릭 하게 노래한다.

1949년에 Art Tatum이 레코딩한 것이 그의 스트라이드 피아노 스타일을 대표 해주는 멋있는 것이고, Dexter Gordon (알토 색 서폰), Count Basie 오케스트라, Buddy
Powell (피아노), Modern Jazz Quartet, Wes Montgomery (기타) 등의 레코딩도 아주 멋있고 특별한 플레이다.
