I'll Remember April by Carmen McRae "I'll Remember April (사월을 기억 하리라)"는 1941년에 Gene de Paul이 작곡하고 Patricia Johnston과 Don Raye가 작사한 곡으로 노래로 불려지기 보다는 악기중심으로 연주되는 재즈 스탠다드이다. 하지만 프랭크 시나트라, 페리 코모, 카르멘 맥크레이등 많은 재즈싱어들이 레코딩하였다. 1942년에 Woody Herman밴드가 레코딩하여 재즈 스탠다드가 되었고 특히 비밥의 대가들인 Bud Powell (피아노)과 Charlie Parker (섹서폰)의 레코딩으로 유명해진 곡이다. 카르멘 맥크레이 (Carmen McRae)가 그녀의 특이한 시적인 정서와 프레이징으로 들려주는 이 곡은 슬픔만이 아닌 가버린 사랑의 이야기로 四月의 마음을 적셔 준다. 여기서 첫번째로 듣는 것은 2005년 The Marciac Jazz Festival에서 연주 된것으로 프랑스 툴루스의 지방교향악단과 함께 Phil Woods (앨토 섹서폰), Ben Aronov (피아노), Reginald Johnson (베이스), Doug Sides (드럼)가 협연한다. 두번째로 듣는 것은 베르기 출신인 불란서의 재즈기타의 거장인 비렐리 라그렌느 ((Bireli Lagrène)와 베르기 출신의 재즈기타의 거장인 필맆 카테린느 (Philip Catherine)가 협연한것이다. 그리고 세번째가 버드 파우월 (Bud Powell)의 멋있는 비밥의 피아노 플레이 이다.
