로마의 Trevi Fountain

1954년에 제작된 "愛泉"이라는 제목으로 개봉되었던 "Three Coins In The Fountain"은 젊은이들을, 특히 젊은 여자들을 들뜨게한 로망스 영화이다. 그당시 우리에게 환상적인 로마를 배경으로 한 세쌍의 별로 심각하지 않은, 하지만 달콤한 사랑의 이야기는 감미로웠다. 아마 그당시 10대, 20대 여자들 중에 이영화의 주제가인 "Three Coins In The Fountain"을 배우지 않고 흥얼거리지 않은 사람은 없었으리라.

이 주제가는 Sammy Cahn이 작사하고 Jule Styne이 작곡하였으며 Frank Sinatra가 부른 것이 이 영화에서 크레딧을 받지 못하고 삽입되었다. 그후 Frank Sinatra가 레코딩한 것이 인기 있었지만 그보다 "The Four Aces"라는 남자 4중주단이 레코딩한 것이 더욱 열광적인 인기를 얻었다. 물론 The Four Aces는 "Love Is A Many-Splendored Thing"으로 우리에게 아주 친근한 그룹이다.

Trevi Fountain은 이 영화에 의하여 유명해 졌지만 그후 1960년에 이태리의 Fellini감독이 내 놓은 "La Dolce Vita"에서 Marcello Mastroianni와 Anita Ekberg이 밤중에 엮은 장면으로 더욱 유명하다. 그래서 1969년에 Mastroianni가 사망했을 때 이 분수를 정지시키고 흑색휘장으로 덮어 놓았었다고 한다.
