이 영화는 미국의 작가 Truman Capote의 단편에 의거한 것이다. Truman Capote는 여러편의 단편과 장편 소설을 쓴
대중 작가이며 휴머니스트인데 그의 저서 중에 1965년에 발표한, 실화에 의거한 소설, "In Cold Blood"가 가장 잘 알려져 있다.
미국의 유명한 영화음악 작곡가인 Henry Mancini가 작곡하고 Johnny Mercer가 작시한 이 곡은, 가수가 아닌 배우
Audrey Hepburn이 불러서 더 인기를 끌었던 것 같다. 그해에 오스카에서 Best Original Song상을 받았고
1962년에는 The Recording of The Year로 그래미상을 받았다. 1961년에는 Andy
Williams가 레코딩하여
그의 대표곡이 되었다.
