영화 «Written on The Wind»는 1956년 영화로 우리가 고등학교를 막 졸업했을 때 쯤에 서울에서도
"바람과 함께 지다"라는 제목으로 개봉되었다. 영화 "마음의 등불" (Magnificetn Obsession), "순정"
(All That Heaven Allows)등에서 젊은 여학생들을 들뜨게 했었던 록 허드슨이 로버트 스택, 도로시 말론,
로렌 바콜과 함께 출연한 Douglas Sirk감독의 멜로물. 재벌2세들과 평인 남녀가 사랑과 질투로 얽히는 스토리.
도로시 말론은 오스카 조연상을 받았다. 개봉당시 영화평론가들에게는 평범한 멜로물로 간주되어 호평을 받지
못했지만 1970대이후 Douglad Sirk감독에 대한 재평가가 유행되면서 많이들 찾는 영화이다.
영화의 주제곡은 Sammy Cahn과 Victor Young이 작사, 작곡하였고 영화 시작에 그당시 최상에 올라 있었던
그룹인 Four Aces의 노래가 나온다. Four Aces의 레코딩은 레코드 차트에 1위에 올랐었다.
