존 덴버의 본명은 존 헨리(John Henry)로, 1943년 12월31일 뉴 멕시코 출신으로 공군조종사의 아들로 태어나 아버지의 잦은 전출로 외로운 어린 시절을 보내면서 음악에 심취하게 되었죠. 1964년 작곡한 Leaving On a Jet Plane 이 Peter Paul & Mary에 의해 부각됨으로써 전문적인 음악인의 길로 받을 내딛는데 1997년 비행기 사고로 사망했습니다.
