Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Jon Schmidt, piano Steven Sharp Nelson, cello (The Piano Guys) "반짝반짝 작은별 아름답게 비치네..."로 시작되는 우리 동요의 원곡은 모차르트의 작품이다. 음악천재인 그가 25세때에 작곡한 피아노 변주곡 <12 Variations on "Ah vous dirai-je, Maman", K.265/300e> 중의 한 곡 "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"에 1806년 제인 테일러(Jane Taylor)라는 영국 여류시인의 시 "The Star"를 노랫말로 붙인 것이다. 'Ah vous dirai -je, Maman'는 당시 프랑스에서 유행한 연가(戀歌)인데 '아아 어머니, 말씀드리겠어요'라는 뜻이다. 어른의 사랑 노래가 어린이를 위한 포근한 자장가(Lullaby)로 변하여 200년도 넘게 오래 불려지고 있다.
