1960년대 초반 최고의 여성 보컬그룹으로 큰 인기를 끌었던 The Ronnettes는 첫 히트곡 'Be my baby'에 이어 'Baby, I love you', 'Walkin' in the rain' 등 8곡을 빌보트차트 100위 안에 거뜬히 올렸다. 여기 소개하는 'Walkin' in the rain'은 1965년 그래미상을 받았다. 1959년 리드싱어 Ronnie Bennet를 주축으로 뉴욕에서 결성된 이 여성 트리오는 유일하게 Beatles와 투어를 가진 그룹으로 유명하다. 2004년 The Vocal Group Hall of Fame에, 2007년에는 The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame에 이름을 올렸다.
